Art Therapy when words are not enough

Art Therapy is regarded as one of significant methods in supporting Psychological Licensed Medical Therapist in the overall treatment plan of their clients, both among adults & children.

As a certified Art Therapist, the Art Therapist is not a medical practitioner nor is eligible to diagnose and treat clients suffering from mental illnesses. Art Therapist only provide support to a medical licensed therapist.

Art Therapy support clients to express & reflect on their emotions, challenge their negative beliefs, express and release hidden stress, resentments, unforgiving, grievance and traumatic experiences; through colours , symbols , numbers , shapes , images, and by highlighting unconscious limiting mind patterns behind the cause of all sufferings and struggles.

Some of these Art Therapy tools and methods are:

Analysis of the meanings associated with a chosen colour(s) by a client and how it reflects his/her inner sensations, current emotions ; as well as how the power of colours can help in channeling negative emotions and transforming it into a state of stillness.

Analysis of the Shapes , Symbols like the meaning of a preferred animal(s) or place(s) a client might relate to and favour

Mandalas Drawing and Colouring activity which helps in strengthening focus and invite clarity to the shattered anxious thoughts .

Additionally, Art therapy can take affirmations to the next level by transforming it into physical movements and into a visualised coloured objects where a client can relate to it and revisit it

Developing The Wheel of life where clients are guided to list what matters to them amidst every paramount spectrum of their life’s such as :Relationships , Inner Circle, Physical , Finances , Spirituality, Health ( Stillness ), Interests & Passions as well as how they celebrate the current form of their eternal being

Vision Boards creation with clients is another central tool, where they can construct a collage of each of the aforementioned major spectrums of their life's and give it a further lively meaning

Having said that, there is an urgent need to introduce Art Therapy amides schools , universities, medical centers ,profit and non profits companies/ institutions, where Art Therapy can serve as a supportive central tool and catalyst to invite tolerance, strengthen wellbeing, foster emotional resilience, mental and physical stamina and contribute to the happiness index of individuals and overall nation prosperity
